Stampede Cares Olympic Games: “And the winner is…”

Congratulations to the Yellow Team! It was not your typical day at the office Wednesday afternoon, when Stampede team members participated in the First Annual Stampede Cares Olympic Games. One of Stampede Meat’s core values is Commitment to Teamwork, and Wednesday’s event challenged team members on a whole new level.

Sixteen employees were split into teams of four and encouraged to wear their team colors. Team members from various departments were represented in the games, including Finance, Logistics, Production, QA, and Sales. Each participant relayed up and down the halls with the same goal in mind – victory for both their team and a nonprofit organization of their choice. Participants and spectators contributed monetary donations, and all the proceeds went to the nonprofit of choice.

The Yellow Team chose No Kid Hungry.
Stampede Cares previously donated to No Kid Hungry during a partnership with Denny’s during the summer of 2017, by collecting donations during a company annual picnic. For those unfamiliar, No Kid Hungry is a national nonprofit fighting to end child hunger. “It was an easy choice for our team. No child should ever go hungry. It’s an issue in this country that needs to be addressed. We are proud to partner with No Kid Hungry and know our donation will go a long way.”, said the Yellow Team.

The event was unlike anything the Stampede Cares Committee organized in the past. Committee member Kelsey Eklin emphasized, “We really just wanted to create something that our team members could enjoy and look forward to as a Stampede Meat annual tradition for years to come!” The game events varied from suiting up in frocks to assembling boxes the fastest.

Vito Giustino, CFO and member of the Red Team said, “It was a great demonstration on how each individual team’s member worked together with a goal of winning the Stampede Cares Olympic Games, but more importantly all four teams worked towards a common goal of supporting No Kid Hungry while having fun.”
